Monday, January 23rd: Effective day for Wesleyan becoming a tobacco-free campus
Monday, January 23rd – Friday, January 27th: #IChoseWVWC Videos
To raise awareness and show support of the Tobacco-Free Campus initiative, students, faculty, and staff are asked to write a poem or change the lyrics to a song to include something about our tobacco-free campus or fresh air. The poem or song must be presented via a video posted on social media using #IChoseWVWC.
Each day, we will be challenging a specific group on campus to share their song or poem with the Wesleyan community. It can be a single person, small group, or whole organization in the video.
Monday – Greeks
Tuesday – Athletes
Wednesday – Staff & Faculty
Thursday – Student Senate & Student Organizations
Friday – Anyone in the Wesleyan Community
At the end of the week, a winner will be selected out of all video submitted. If the winner is an individual, he/she will receive a $50 gift card to the Bobcat Den. If the winner, is an organization or group, we will donate $50 to your organization or a philanthropy of your choice.
Tuesday, January 24th – Cake Celebration & “Kick Butts” Cigarette Clean-up
At 4:30 PM, a cake celebrating our tobacco-free campus will be setup at the Benedum Campus Center.
From 5:00 PM – 6:00 PM, volunteers will come together to help rid cigarette litter on Wesleyan’s campus. Students and organizations will be assigned a designated area of campus to cover. Gloves and other supplies will be provided.
