Daya to Present Concert September 17

West Virginia Wesleyan College’s Office of Campus Life announced Daya and opening act PUBLIC will be in concert on September 17. The concert begins at 9 p.m. in the John D. Rockefeller IV Physical Education Center, and doors open at 8 p.m.  General admission tickets can be purchased in advance only online for $15 or at the door for $20.  Doors open at 8 p.m.

Singer and songwriter Daya (born Grace Tandon) first climbed the charts as a 16-year-old high school junior. Born and raised in the Pittsburgh suburb of Mount Lebanon, PA, she began taking piano lessons at the age of three, and moved on to voice lessons at the age of ten. Songwriting came later, and in 2014 she signed with the Z-Entertainment label based on her demos. A year later, her single "Hide Away" peaked at number 23 on the Billboard Hot 100. In 2015, Daya released her debut, self-titled EP on Artbeatz. She also contributed vocals to the Chainsmokers' 2016 Billboard Top 20 hit, "Don't Let Me Down."

PUBLIC is a Cincinnati, OH-based pop band that has gained notoriety through festivals like CMJ, Bunbury, and MPMF, in addition to supporting acts such as WALK THE MOON, Twenty One Pilots, and Neon Trees.
