At West Virginia Wesleyan, we take the hands-on approach.  In the School of Science, you will learn science by doing science.  The curriculum focuses on observation, analysis and experimentation in the field, laboratory and workplace.  We aspire to train the next generation of leaders in science and society. The faculty of the School of Science is committed to providing small classes, taught by qualified and passionate people, as well as one-on-one academic and professional advising.

With the addition of the David E. Reemsnyder Research Center in 2010, the School of Science has added 2,300 square feet of modern research laboratories and classrooms.  Opportunities to apply what you have learned to real-life situations are available in courses, research experiences and internships. The faculty of the School of Science maintains active research collaborations with the West Virginia Experimental Program to Stimulate Competitive Research (EPSCoR), NASA EPSCoR, and the West Virginia Idea Network for Biomedical Research Excellence (WV-INBRE).  Each summer, our students engage in funded, cutting-edge research internships. For the past six years, WV-EPSCoR has supported our undergraduate research program on campus, funding multi-semester student-faculty projects with over 45 students participating.

Our graduates have an excellent acceptance rate into professional programs and graduate schools in science and mathematics at major universities.  Recent graduates have obtained successful in careers in medicine, dentistry, optometry, pharmacy and pharmaceutical science, environmental science, computer science, mathematics, education, veterinary science, petroleum and natural gas geophysics, applied physics, medical physics, aerospace engineering, biomedical engineering, chemical engineering, civil engineering, electrical engineering, industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, and other many science-related careers. Our alumni are eager to share advice and help you make connections around the world.
